The Ambient UMP III has been revamped for the modern boom operator using Phantom microphones on a "wireless boom" with typical belt pack transmitters. Designed for boom tip mounting, the UMP III is the smallest, lightest, and most environmentally friendly microphone power supply in its class.

Using the popular rechargeable NP-50 battery, the UMP III avoids drain of the transmitter's batteries. The autonomous supply avoids additional drain of the beltpack's batteries and, thus, ensures long battery life.

The UMP III is compatible with any transmitter with mic-level input. Input and output connectors allow for individual configuration and are keyed against accidental interchange. A multi-colored LED interface indicates battery status and selected powering mode that covers 12 and 48 Volt Phantom plus 12 V T-power.

The "PhanToMizer" cable offers an economic alternative to operate 12 Volts T-powered condenser microphones on microphone inputs which supply only +48V Phantom Power. An electronic circuit is built into the XLR-3M connector to adapt the voltage and block the Phantom Power from pin 3.
