The IDX System Technology NP-9X 96Wh NP-Style Lithium-Ion Battery was designed to accommodate users who require more power and capacity. It has the same form factor as the NP-L7S and compatible with all current IDX accessories and chargers.

At 96Wh, the NP-9X meets passenger aircraft carry-on requirements to be travel friendly. It is now equipped with two D-Tap outputs, one being a D-Tap Advanced port which can be used to charge the battery when used with IDX's VL-DT1 D-Tap charger. The power indicator on the NP-9X also has five two-step LED allowing for 10% increments.
